The producer who changed the sound of ballroom.

Vjuan Allure has been a staple of ballroom culture for over 20 years, pushing the sounds and styles of the vogue ball forwards with his tracks and DJ sets. With the 2000 remix "Allure Ha," he reignited interest in reworking "The Ha Dance" for the ballroom, ushering in a new era of stripped-back and banging ballroom productions.
One of the greatest things about his sound is how he's documented the legendary voices of vogue, like Sinia Ebony, Kevin JZ Prodigy, Miss Jay and RuPaul. He's also a fixture of the house music culture of the Washington DC area and Naples, Italy, and has been serving newcomers the real rules of the ballroom on his Facebook page for the last several years. Vjuan sat down with writer, DJ and curator Vivian Host to share the inner workings of the ball, how the style has evolved and perspectives on how the culture has changed in the last decade.
