Survival Mode: Clubs, Live Music and Covid-19

The COVID-19 pandemic poses an existential threat to live events and clubbing. While it’s possible to envision concerts in a socially distanced era, what do restrictions mean for durational club events where mingling, bodies and close contact are key? If club events are again taking place in certain countries – both legally and unofficially – what guidelines need to be enforced to mitigate risk? And has the pandemic created any upsides for the events industry? Participants include: Dimitri Hegemann (Tresor.Berlin (OFFICIAL)), Dtekk (FOMO klub / BiaÅ‚ystok, Poland), Ria Katz (Quo Vadis Productions, Knockdown Center, ex-Output / NYC), Sarra Wild (OH141 / Glasgow), Shimpei Kaiho (WWW / Tokyo), Gareth Williams (Club ALL / Shanghai). Moderated by music journalist and agent Lisa Blanning. Organizer: Unsound Festival The discussion is hosted in partnership with Mixmag.
