Ahadadream, Manara, Darama & DJ Priya South Asian showcasein the Lab LDN
Mixmag and Coors Light present a special launch party for our upcoming South Asia Series, hosted by our guest editor Nabihah Iqbal with DJ Priya, Darama, Manara and Ahadadream playing. Mixmag’s South Asia Series will be an editorial series dedicated to spotlighting artists, scenes and issues relating to South Asia and the South Asian diaspora in music. It will be running on Mixmag.net across September 6 to 10, in the lead up to London’s Dialled In festival, which takes place on September 11. Nabihah Iqbal is guest editing the series, and has curated a special party in The Lab LDN to celebrate the launch. Brighton-and-London-hailing DJ Priya will be bringing her energetic mix of reggaeton, dancehall, dembow and bashment with a Desi twist, and Daytimers member Darama is primed to cause a ruckus with his intoxicating blend of South Asian and UK rave culture sounds. Rinse FM, BBC Asian Network and NTS regular Manara is revered for her dazzling club sets that ignite dancefloors with fast-paced blends chopping through house, grime, Bollywood samples and more, and More Time co-founder Ahadadream reps the most banging percussive club sounds from around the globe, from gqom and amapiano to UK funky and kuduro.
